Persuasive Letter
“Story of an Hour” was considered daring in the 19th century – at least two editors refused it because they considered it immoral.  They wanted Chopin to soften her female character, to make her less independent and unhappy in her marriage.
Write a letter to one of these editors trying to persuade them to print this story.  Consider your audience and their attitudes and how to best convince them.

Your letter must have at least 3 main points in support of your claim, must cite details from the story, and must be neatly typed in a business letter format.
